With the AZ-10, Framus remembers ancient goodnesses and represents a classic of the former company history in a modernized form. This exquisitely processed full resonance archtop jazzguitar orientates itself to the homonymous instrument series which was built in the 60s for jazz-legend Attila Zoller, and played by him for a long time. The available dual pickup version follow thereby the AZ-10 models of the mid-60s. The instrument has a massive, arched Spruce top. Architraves, ground and glued-in neck are of massive Flamed Maple, and a Tigerstripe Ebony fingerboard with custom inlays. All woods are selected carefully and guarantee excellent vibration characteristics.

For an adequate sound, there are two specially balanced MEC humbucker, which are mounted floating together with the 5-layer Celluloid pickguard. Tonal, the new double pickup AZ-10 evidently speaks fluently jazz, offers however, with a more flexible pick up assembly than its single pickup sister, a lot more than only the classic glove-tone in highest perfection, and so it's the ideal partner for all varieties of this genre. The familiar super-playability invites to endless excursions across the perfect fingerboard and makes it difficult to put the AZ-10 aside. For open-minded jazz guitarists this is an absolute dream-instrument, if not even the guitar for life.

The AZ-10 Bubinga belongs to the reissued Atilla-Zoller guitar line from 2004 with specially selected wood components. The guitar has an arched Spruce top and two F-holes that feature black Abalone/Celluloid binding, also present on the body"s edges. It has a Tigerstripe Ebony fingerboard with custom Mother-of-Pearl inlays and an adjustable and length-compensated Ebony bridge. az10 koa
az10 shellac
Koa is a very special wood that has a unique texture and grain, but it only grows on the Hawaiian Islands at an elevation of 100 to 2500 meters (300 " 8000 feet). Its availability is therefore strongly restricted and found only in selected instruments.
The AZ-10 features this wood on the bottom, sides, pick guard, and on the matched headstock as a veneer. The arched Spruce top is complemented with special black abalone bindings on body edges and on the F-holes. The one-piece triple-A Flamed Maple neck has a Natural High Polish finish, as well as the rest of the body and headstock. The guitar has also an MEC Floating Jazz humbucker and gold hardware that includes the Framus locking machine heads, Warwick security locks and the trapeze tailpiece with an "AZ-10" engraving.

The name AZ-10 Shellac refers to the special AZ-10 Single Pickup Blonde in terms of features and choice of wood. The shellac finish of this classic arch top jazz guitar has a slightly matte gloss, which is the result of the lacquer not completely setting therefore not influencing the wood resonance. That is also why the back of the one-piece massive triple-A Flamed Maple neck doesn"t have any lacquer. The body has a Spruce top with two F-holes, massive Flamed Maple sides and bottom, and Celluloid binding on the pick guard, F-holes and body edges.
The AZ-10 Shellac is available in Amber and Vintage Violin colours.

az 10

The Framus AZ-10 is a modern remake of the previously named Attila Zoller Signature jazz guitar from the Frankfurt Musikmesse 2004, which Framus originally released in the 60"s and made a worldwide splash. The extraordinary quality of this instrument, manufactured in Germany, was convincing right from the start and gained a positive feedback based on its good price, excellent performance and inspiring craftsmanship. This success caused Framus to extend its model palette by the AZ-10 Single Pickup Blonde.

Except the matched headstock with a veneer of Flamed Maple, the Single Pickup Blonde, like all other AZ-10 models, is made of solid and carefully selected tone woods. The top of this full resonance guitar is made of Spruce, the back, the notch, the single-part neck and also the pick guard consist of AAA Flamed Maple. The body has a black Abalone/Celluloid binding made of genuine nacre at its front and back side. The same material has been used for the custom inlays, inserted into the Ebony fingerboard.

The strings are guided over a length-compensated Ebony bridge, fixed to a trapezoid string holder and kept in tune by the Framus locking hardware - completely created in gold. The free-floating mounted MEC Jazz humbucker is controlled by a volume and tone control mounted to the pick guard.
